FOMC: What’s Next?

WORLD HEADLINES – The euro held onto gains spurred by Catalonia’s pullback from an immediate declaration of independence from Spain, while the dollar drifted as investors awaited minutes from the last Federal Reserve meeting.

STOCKS – S&P 500 futures consolidated following yesterday’s failed attempt to break out.

BONDS – The yield on 10-year Treasuries declined two basis points to 2.34 percent. Germany’s 10-year yield rose two basis points to 0.46 percent, the largest rise in two weeks.

COMMODITIES – West Texas Intermediate crude gained 0.9 percent, the highest in more than a week.

CURRENCIES – Foreign currencies were mostly mixed during the overnight trading session.

ECONOMIC DATA – US JOLTS Job Openings due at 10:00, FOMC Meeting Minutes at14:00 ET.
